Daily Market Commentary for November 5, 2009

IMS Health
IMS Health Inc., a health care data company, announced Thursday that TPG
Capital and CPP Investment Board would be purchasing the company for $4 billon.
IMS handles pharmaceutical prescriptions and sales, they hold the worlds largest
drug developers as clients. The company also provides auditing services and
analysis tools for the health care industry. Shareholders will get $22 per
share, shares rose almost 24 percent in afternoon trading. IMS announced on Oct.
20, saying they were considering possible changes in strategy, however they did
not mention selling. "This transaction enables our shareholders to realize
substantial value from their investment in IMS with an immediate cash premium,
while at the same time strengthening our position to capture long-term growth
opportunities," said David R. Carlucci, IMS Chairman and CEO. IMS will focus on
developing business in higher-growth regions and on other parts of its business
changes. The company expects the deal to close by the end of the first quarter
of 2010. Labor Department reported that the number of Americans filing new
claims for unemployment fell to 512,000 last week from 532,000 the previous
week, economists expected 522,000 claims, on average. Continuing claims fell to
5.749 million from 5.817 million the previous week, economists thought it would
fall to 5.750 million. Stocks rallied today, the Dow ended the day with triple
digit gains. Bond prices fell, the yield on the benchmark 10- year Treasury note
rose to 3.53 from 3.51 Monday, the dollar also fell against the euro and the
yen. Commodities were mixed crude oil fell as gold rose.

U.S. 3Q Non-Farm Productivity rose 9.5%; compared to consensus of an
increase by 7.0%.
Unit Labor Costs:
U.S. 3Q Unit Labor Costs fell 5.2%; compared to consensus of a decrease by
4.5%.
Initial Jobless Claims:
U.S. Jobless Claims fell 20K to 512K in week of October 31 compared to
survey of a decrease by 5K; U.S. Continuing Claims for week of Oct 24 fell 68K
to 5,749,000; U.S. Jobless Claims Revised for week of October 24 to 532K from
530K.
